Red Sox come back and defeat Yankees on opening day

Last night was opening night and we had another great Yankees vs Red Sox game to start the season. The Red Sox won 9-7 in one of those comeback games against the Yankees once again.

The Yankees roughed up pitcher Josh Beckett in the 2nd inning, with back-to-back home runs from Jorge Posada and Curtis Granderson. In total Beckett pitched 4.2 innings, allowing 8 hits, 5 runs, striking out 1 and walking 3. Yankees starter CC Sabathia pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 5 runs, striking out 4 and walking 2.

Red Sox pitcher Hideki Okajima got the win, pitching 1 inning, and closer Jonathan Papelbon closed the game, pitching 1 inning to get the save. Yankees pitcher Chan Ho Park got the loss, pitching 0.2 innings, allowing 3 hits and 3 runs.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia went 2 for 4, with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis went 3 for 4, with 3 runs scored and 2 RBIs.

Yankees catcher Jorge Posada went 3 for 4, with a run scored and 2 RBIs. Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter went 2 for 5, with 1 RBI.
